New records of Lace bugs in New Caledonia (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Tingidae) and their potential impacts on endemic fauna and agriculture

Abstract

Recent arrivals of lace bug species to New Caledonia pushed us to update the catalog of this family. We listed the endemics and the recently arrived species, making a total of 51 species currently recorded. We also reported new sites and new hosts in New Caledonia. A partial lace bug fauna from Wallis and Futuna is also given. Their environmental and agricultural impacts are reviewed in the context of a biodiversity hotspot.
