Abstract
The taxonomy of three species of Indo-West Pacific dynomenid crabs currently placed in Dynomene Desmarest, 1823: D. pugnatrix De Man, 1889, D. guamensis McLay, 2001, and D. kroppi Mclay, 2001, is reappraised. The three species differ significantly from Dynomene s. str., notably in the form of their infraorbital margins, thoracic sternums, male pleons, chelipeds and setation. As such, a new genus, Colimene gen. nov., is established for them. The type species, C. pugnatrix comb. nov., is redescribed and figured in detail on the basis of fresh material, and comparisons made with allied genera.
