A new species of the genus Ellipsidion Saussure, 1863 (Dictyoptera: Blattodea, Pseudophyllodromiidae) from the Papuan Region

Abstract

A new cockroach species of the genus Ellipsidion Saussure, 1863, E. storozhenkoi Anisyutkin, sp. nov., from Waigeo Island (East Indonesia, Raja Ampat archipelago) is described. A detailed morphological description of the new species and comparison with other representatives of the genus Ellipsidion from New Guinea are provided. This discovery represents the northwesternmost record of Ellipsidion yet.
