A new species of the genus Paranthrene Hübner, 1819 (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) from Lombok Island, Indonesia

Abstract

A new species, Paranthrene storozhenkoi O. Gorbunov & Koshkin, sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Lombok Island, Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia. The new species belongs to the Paranthrene chrysochloris (Hampson, 1897) species group and is closely related to P. aureoviridis Petersen 2001, described from Nepal. These two species clearly differ from each other by the colouration of the labial palpae, patagia, tibiae and abdomen.
