New species and taxonomic notes of Larnaca Walker, 1869 from China (Orthoptera: Gryllacrididae: Gryllacridinae)

Orthoptera Larnaca new species taxonomy Gryllacrididae China

Abstract

Larnaca qianlei sp. nov. is described from Xizang Autonomous Region, China. The new species is characterized by the long, downcurved spiniform processes on the male ninth abdominal tergite and the straight posterior margin of the female seventh abdominal sternite. Larnaca (Larnaca) squamiptera Ingrisch, 2018 becomes a new synonym of Larnaca (Larnaca) infolda Du, Bian & Shi, 2017. Female morphology of Larnaca (Larnaca) walle Yin & Meng, 2021 is described and illustrated for the first time. Types of the new species in this paper are deposited in Museum of Biology, East China Normal University (ECNU), China.
