Abstract
The genus Acantholeria Garrett, 1921 is a small member of the subfamily Heleomyzinae. Previously, only one species of this genus had been recorded in China: A. czernyi Gorodkov, 1966. In this study, one new species and one new record of Acantholeria are described from China: Acantholeria gorodkovi sp. nov. and Acantholeria desertorum Czerny, 1932. A key to the Palaearctic species of Acantholeria is also presented, and photographs of the adult insect of Acantholeria czernyi Gorodkov, 1966 are also provided.
