Taxonomic review of Saldula (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Saldidae) from China

Abstract

The species of the genus Saldula Van Duze, 1914 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Leptopodomorpha: Saldidae: Saldinae: Saldoidini) from China are reviewed. To date, 19 species of Saldula have been recorded from China, including S. arenicola arenicola (Scholtz, 1847), S. burmanica Lindskog, 1975, S. fucicola (J. Sahlberg, 1870), S. melanoscela (Fieber, 1859), S. niveolimbata (Reuter, 1900), S. nobilis (Horváth, 1883), S. opacula (Zetterstedt, 1838), S. orthochila (Fieber, 1895), S. pallipes (Farbricius, 1794), S. palustris (Douglas, 1874), S. pilosella (Thomson, 1871), S. recticollis (Horváth, 1899), S. saltatoria (Linnaeus, 1758), S. sibiricola Cobben, 1985, S. taiwanensis Cobben, 1985, and S. xanthochila (Fieber, 1859), along with three newly recorded species: S. bengali Cobben, 1986 from Xizang, S. lindskogi Vinokurov, 2004 from Inner Mongolia, and S. pericarti Vinokurov, 2012 from Xizang. This review provides a key to these species, diagnostic characters, and photographs that include dorsal habitus, hemelytra, male parameres, male parandria, and typical habitats.
