Abstract

Two new species of genus Bactrocera Macquart, Bactrocera (Bactrocera) viraktamathi Maneesh & Hancock, sp. nov. and Bactrocera (Javadacus) barakzaii Maneesh & Hancock, sp. nov. are described from the Himalayan region of India and keys to all species of the Bactrocera latifrons group and Indian species of subgenus Javadacus Hardy are provided. Variation in B. prabhakari Maneesh, Gupta & Hancock is also discussed. Bactrocera venifica (Hering) is recorded for the first time from India and new host plants for B. divenderi Maneesh, Hancock & Prabhakar are noted.
