Abstract

A new species of the genus Nygolaimoides, collected in natural areas of Iran, is characterized, including morphological description, morphometrics and illustrations (Line drawings, LM and SEM pictures). Nygolaimoides jairajpurii sp. nov. is characterized by its slender to very slender body (0.96–1.38 mm, a = 34–55), lip region continuous and 12–14.5 µm wide, odontostyle 9–11.5 µm long, neck 224–293 µm long, pharyngeal expansion 90–135 µm long, V = 49–55, female tail hemispheroid (7–10 µm, c = 110–163, ć = 0.4–0.6), spicules 29–34 µm long, and four ventromedian supplements arranged in two pairs and with hiatus.
