Hemiptera Auchenorrhyncha leafhoppers Neocoelidiini taxonomy

Abstract

The Neocoelidiinae Oman, 1943 is a small subfamily of Cicadellidae endemic to the American continent. Most species occur in the Neotropical region, with only four genera recorded from the Nearctic region. The subfamily comprises 200 species and 36 genera, including eight monotypic genera. In this study, we describe the second species for three previously monotypic genera: Deltocoelidia longistyla sp. nov. from Brazil and Peru, Neocoelindroma albicephala sp. nov. from Ecuador, and Placoscopana birama sp. nov. from Brazil.
