Abstract

Based on morphological and genetic evidence, a distinct group within the genus Tarucus Moore, [1881] is recognized and described as a new subgenus, i.e., Kongmingius Li & Liu subgen. nov. with Castalius ananda de Nicéville, [1884] designated as its type species. Furthermore, due to superficial resemblance, T. waterstradti Druce, 1895 is transferred to this new subgenus as well.
