Abstract

The genus Endecous is commonly found in Brazilian caves and includes troglobitic species such as E. (Ramalhoecous) infernalis. In this study, we describe a new troglobitic species within the subgenus E. (Ramalhoecous), collected from a cave in the Serra do Ramalho region, southern Bahia state, northeastern Brazil. We also discuss troglomorphic traits observed in the group and highlight the conservation status of the cave where the new species was discovered.
