Abstract

The genus Chrysina Kirby, 1828 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelinae: Rutelini) is a group of phytophagous chafer beetles comprising 127 described species. The collection of Chrysina of the Natural History Museum, London, United Kingdom is important because it contains type material for 19 species, and material collected over a long period of time. However, the collection is not very comprehensive, holding representatives of fewer than half the described species of the genus (47%), from only nine countries. In this catalogue, we provide an overview of the collection of Chrysina at the Natural History Museum, with historical context and background. Lectotypes of four nominal species are herein designated.
