Taxonomy of the facialis species-group of the genus Meleonoma Meyrick, 1914 (Lepidoptera: Autostichidae) from China, with descriptions of nineteen new species

Abstract

Nineteen new species of the facialis species-group of the genus Meleonoma Meyrick are described and illustrated from China: M. acutidens sp. nov., M. aequabilis sp. nov., M. angularis sp. nov., M. apicula sp. nov., M. auriculata sp. nov., M. balteiformis sp. nov., M. costiclavata sp. nov., M. crispa sp. nov., M. heteroidea sp. nov., M. licina sp. nov., M. magnifica sp. nov., M. microda sp. nov., M. oxydonta sp. nov., M. seorsispina sp. nov., M. similicatenata sp. nov., M. spicijuxta sp. nov., M. tenuicaulis sp. nov., M. tenuispina sp. nov. and M. verticalis sp. nov. Three additional species, M. bilobata Wang, 2016, M. montana Lvovsky, 2015 and M. segregacantha Wang, 2020, are newly recorded from China; and the female of M. bilobata Wang, 2016 is described for the first time. Images of adults and genitalia of the new species and newly recorded species are provided.
