Abstract

The Japanese species of the genus Phloeophagus Schoenherr, 1838 are revised taxonomically. Two species, P. japonicus Inoue, sp. nov. (Hokkaido, Honshu, and Kyushu) and P. orientalis Osella, 1974, are recognized. Both species are described or redescribed.
