Idiocerine leafhopper genus Paraidioscopus Maldonado-Capriles (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Eurymelinae) in the Indian subcontinent with description of one new species

Abstract

Genus Paraidioscopus Maldonado-Capriles is rediagnosed. One new species, Paraidioscopus andamanicus sp. nov. (Andaman & Nicobar Is: Diglipur) is described and illustrated. One new combination Paraidioscopus unimaculatus (Melichar) comb. nov. is proposed for Idiocerus unimaculatus Melichar from Sri Lanka and it is redescribed and illustrated. A key to known species of Paraidioscopus from the Oriental region is given.
