Review of Japanese species of the genus Yamatentomon (Protura, Acerentomidae), with supplementary notes on Y. brevisetum from North Korea

Abstract

This study reviews the already known Japanese members of the proturan genus Yamatentomon (Y. yamato, Y. fujisanum, Y. kunnepchupi) and describes two new species: Y. satsuma sp. nov. and Y. mikawa sp. nov. Additionally, supplementary notes on morphological characteristics, including head chaetotaxy, porotaxy, the length and shape of foretarsal setae, and male squama genitalis, are provided for Y. yamato, Y. fujisanum, and Y. kunnepchupi, as well as for Y. brevisetum from North Korea. A key to the species is also provided.
