Abstract

This paper reviews the taxonomic research on the family Tenuipalpidae in China, with an updated checklist of 56 species belonging to nine genera.  Major contributions to the Chinese fauna of the Tenuipalpidae were made by Ma En-Pei and his colleagues, who discovered and described over 20 species, Wang Hui-Fu and her colleagues, who described 10 species from China, and Yin Sui-Gong and students, who added five new species.  There have been relatively few studies on the biology and control of the Tenuipalpidae in China and these are briefly reviewed.
