Abstract
Phytoliriomyza Hendel is an enigmatic genus of leaf miners that is poorly known from the Brazilian fauna. This paper describes six new species: Phytoliriomyza flabellulata sp. nov., Phytoliriomyza flavolinea sp. nov., Phytoliriomyza galheirana sp. nov., Phytoliriomyza obscurita sp. nov., Phytoliriomyza perspicua sp. nov., and Phytoliriomyza velutifrons sp. nov., and report new records for Phytoliriomyza lurida Spencer and Phytoliriomyza imperfecta (Malloch). We also provide an identification key to the Brazilian Phytoliriomyza species, along with images of adults and terminalia, and a distribution map.
