Abstract

The genus Carinostigmus Tsuneki, 1954 is reviewed from the Indian subcontinent. Two new species, viz. C. parliensis Tessy, Sureshan & Girish Kumar, sp. nov. and C. nepalensis Tessy, Sureshan & Girish Kumar, sp. nov. are described from India (Maharashtra and Uttarakhand) and Nepal (Bagmati Pradesh), respectively and differences from similar species are also given. A modified key to species of Carinostigmus from the Indian subcontinent is provided. Records for the other six species in the genus known from the Indian subcontinent are also provided.
