Abstract

The genus Lysacris Descamps & Amédégnato, 1972 currently comprises three species distributed along the west coast and northern regions of South America. In this study, we describe Lysacris deltoides Silva sp. nov. based on specimens from the entomological collection of the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University. Our findings highlight the critical role of natural history collections as essential tools for advancing biodiversity research.
