A new species of Odontothrips Amyot & Serville (Thripidae, Thripinae) from Ladakh, India

Thysanoptera Odontothrips Ladakh DNA barcode new species

Abstract

Odontothrips tyagiae sp. nov. is described and illustrated from Ladakh, India, sharing most structural character states with the European species O. cytisi and O. ulicis. DNA barcode data were generated from the holotype and paratype specimens using the partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) and submitted to The Barcode of Life Data Systems (BOLD) for future research.
