New species and new records of tiger beetles of the subgenus Leptinomera Rivalier, 1961 and remarks on the subgenus Matalinia Wiesner & Lien, 2023 of the genus Cylindera Westwood, 1831 (Coleoptera, Cicindelidae)

Abstract

New records of some species of tiger beetles of the subgenus Leptinomera Rivalier, 1961 from Southeast Asia are presented and discussed. Cylindera (Leptinomera) catoptroides (W. Horn, 1892) is recorded for the first time from Thailand (Nakhon Si Thammarat and Yala Provinces), and Cylindera (Leptinomera) macrodonta Cassola et Probst, 1995 is recorded for the first time from Malaysia (Sabah Province). Three species are described as new: Cylindera (Leptinomera) mosolovi sp. nov.—from Malayan Province Pahang, Cylindera (Leptinomera) pseudocatoptroides sp. nov.—from Thai Province Yala, and Cylindera (Leptinomera) prosvirovi sp. nov.—from Indonesian Provinces Acen and North Sumatra. An identification key as well as the distribution maps of the species of subgenus Leptinomera are provided. Cylindera kualatahanensis Matalin & Cassola, 2000 is transferred from the subgenus Leptinomera to the subgenus Matalinia Wiesner & Lien, 2023.
