Abstract

Actinostachys simplex Amoroso & Coritico (Schizaeaceae), from Mindanao, Philippines is herein described as a new species. The species is unique from all other species of Actinostachys (grass ferns) by its distinct and longer stipe and consistent single and longer sorophore with glabrous sporangia. An identification key to the species of Philippine Actinostachys is provided.
