Abstract

Revision of herbarium specimens from Asia revealed the existence of two previously unnoticed species. We describe two new species of Carex from Himalayan eastern Asia. Carex barbayaki is closely related to C. dielsiana (section Decorae). Carex herbacoeli seems to be allied to C. fuliginosa (section Aulocystis). Pictures are provided.
