He described more than 500 taxa, mostly bees. Moure's last publication was the catalogue of the bees of the Neotropical Region, which is a comprehensive taxonomic account of more than 5,000 species. The entomological collection which carries his name, 'Entomological Collection Jesus Santiago Moure" at Universidade Federal do Paraná, comprises more than three million insects and has supported a multitude of taxonomic studies. Today's paper by C.S. Ribeiro-Costa provides a catalog of the types of some families of Coleoptera (Insecta) deposited in this collection.
