Two new species of Anthaxia Eschscholtz, 1829 from the A. salicis (Fabricius, 1776) species-group (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

Abstract

Two new species of Anthaxia from the A. (Anthaxia) salicis (Fabricius, 1776) species-group are described and illustrated: A. anadyomene n. sp. (Cyprus) and A. syriaca n. sp. (Israel, Syria, Turkey). Differential diagnoses of both new species are given and the A. salicis species-group is redefined.
