A review of the Stenus viridanus group (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) from China with descriptions of two new species

Coleoptera China identification key new species Staphylinidae Stenus viridanus group

Abstract

Chinese species of Stenus viridanus group are studied and two new species are described: S. liuyei Gao & Tang, sp. n. from Yunnan Province and S. panyuhongae Gao & Tang, sp. n., from Hainan Province. Stenus cyanogaster Rougemont, 1983 is reassigned to the viridanus group, and new provincial records for three species are reported. The diagnostic characters of the new species are illustrated and a key to species of the group from China is provided.
