Abstract

Taraxapseudes n. gen. is proposed with the type and only described species, Taraxapseudes diversus (Lang, 1968) n. comb. The genus Atlantapseudes is rediagnosed and emended, excluding Atlantapseudes diversus (Lang, 1968) from the genus. Atlantapseudes B|cescu, 1978 is reported for the first time from Brazil and Madagascar. Atlantapseudes brasiliensis sp. nov. and Atlantapseudes madagascariensis sp. nov. are described in the present paper. Atlantapseudes brasiliensis can be distinguished from the other species in the genus by the presence of curved spiniform apophyses on the posterior margins of pereonites 1–3. Atlantapseudes madagascariensis was found to have a long antennal squama reaching nearly to the fourth article and a carapace with a lateral apophysis bordered by two setae. A key to species of Atlantapseudes is provided along with a table to facilitate identification.Taraxapseudes n. gen. Atlantapseudes brasiliensis sp. nov. and Atlantapseudes madagascariensis sp. nov. são descritas no presente trabalho.
