Abstract

This survey of the distribution of the water mite species (Acari: Hydrachnidia, Hygrobatidae) of the genus Atractides Koch in Turkey is based on all published data so far and numerous new records. Atractides oezkani is described as a new species; first records from Turkey are given for Atractides gibberipalpis Piersig, A. lunipes Lundblad, A. fluviatilis (Szalay), A. rivalis Lundblad and A. acutirostris (Motas & C. Angelier).
