Abstract

There is confusion about the type collections of the names Agrostis cognata and Trisetum fraudulentum, which were described by Steudel based on collections made by Lechler in Magallanes Province, Chile, and distributed to most major European herbaria. We have clarified this confusion by checking available herbarium sheets of both type series. Exsiccates of original material of both names are mixed collections. Both names are lectotypified here based on syntypes housed at P.
