Monochaetia phylogeny taxonomy Fungi

Abstract

A coelomycetous fungus isolated from dead stems of Bulbophyllum thouars produced conidia with single apical and basal appendages. Combined morphological comparison and phylogenetic analysis based on four gene regions (ITS, LSU, β-tubulin and tef1) confirm this fungus as a new taxon which is named as Pestalotiopsis bulbophylli sp. nov.
