Abstract

Lychnophora spiciformis, a new species from Brazil, is here described and illustrated. The new species is endemic to the Chapada Diamantina in Bahia, Northeastern Brazil. Lychnophora spiciformis is characterized by its pseudoterminal congested spike-like inflorescence of capitula or glomerules of capitula. The affinities of this species are discussed.
