Abstract

Ramalina subfraxinea Nyl. var. confirmata (Nyl.) N. Stevens is reported as new to the New World from the Venezuelan Andes. Thus far this variety was known only from Australia, New Caledonia and the Indian Ocean. It has cryptochlorophaeic acid as chemical compound. Comments about ecology and morphology are given.
